Our client is the pharmaceutical strategic consulting business within a major international healthcare communications group. The team works predominantly with large pharmaceutical company clients, providing them with insight-led international strategic marketing and brand consultancy across a wide range of therapy areas.

This includes international market landscape projects, future scenario mapping, brand and therapy area strategy, portfolio development, marketing process development, customer strategy, and market segmentation projects, typically relating to global development assets from Phase II through to commercialisation.

In line with their vision to significantly expand the business, our client is now looking to appoint two senior International Strategy Consultants to join the team in the UK.

Opportunity profile

Our client is seeking talented, senior industry professionals who will play an important role in contributing to the strategic development of the business as well as leading the development of new client business and delivering strategic consulting assignments with major client companies.

The Strategy Consultants’ role will involve the following aspects:
- Leading the development and delivery of a diverse range of strategic consulting projects with pharmaceutical industry clients.
- Proactively developing new client relationships and achieving new consulting projects for the business.
- Contributing to the development of the company’s strategy, service offering and processes, helping to enhance their position as a leading international strategic consulting business.
- Providing effective leadership to project teams, to ensure the delivery of client projects to all quality, time and cost metrics.
- Working effectively with colleagues across the Group, contributing to joint projects and initiatives as appropriate.

Our client will seek individuals who will make a strong contribution to the development of the business and have the talents and desire to progress within the global organisation.

Candidate profile

We are seeking candidates with a broad range of experience, skills and competencies as follows – 
-  Broad strategic and operational brand marketing experience – including accountability for building and implementing effective international brand and portfolio strategies for development assets and marketed brands. 
- There is a strong preference for candidates who have gained additional experience within a strategic brand consultancy environment and/or as independent marketing / strategy consultants. 
- Must be familiar with operating within an international business environment.
- Some specific expertise in some of the following areas will be highly valued - brand positioning, segmentation, market access, pricing and reimbursement. 
- Proactive, self-starter, able to be self-reliant and operate within a lean, low infrastructure business environment. 
- Team player, shares ideas and knowledge openly, able to work effectively and engage with colleagues across the Group. 
- Credible, articulate, open-minded, flexible approach.
- Relationship building skills, good listener, challenges appropriately and with tact, will build strong and influential client interactions. 
- Project management capabilities, well organised and delivery focussed. 
- Intellectually strong, inquisitive, ideas generator and quick thinker.

The company’s head office is in NW England. Strategy Consultants will not necessarily need to live locally, however they will be required to travel regularly to the office and in their initial period with the company this will require them to be in the office for c4 days each week. Thereafter c1-2 days per week in HQ will be more typical.
