Our History

Key milestones in our development –

January 1990 – Sue Rossiter founded Barrett Webb, and established our positioning within the pharmaceuticals executive search sector, working with a range of mainly large pharmaceutical companies and focusing in Commercial and Development areas of the industry.

March 1991 – Moved to new offices in St Albans, in order to expand the business.

1993 – We expanded our activity beyond UK search, broadening into international search for clients based across Europe, and winning our first international search in March 1993.

March 1995 – Ruth Stone joined is to lead the development of our Medical and Commercial practice across UK and Europe.

1997 – we gained our first major PSL with a Top Three pharmaceutical company and this has been retained and developed continuously since 1997.

May 1997 – we moved to our current offices in St Albans, to give us further opportunity for expansion.

1998 – We first installed our fully integrated executive search database and project management system, the Best in Class industry gold standard system.

2001 – International search represents over 50% of our search business for the first time.

October 2003 – Jeffrey Webb joined us to lead the development of our international Technical and Operations practice, working with clients across UK and Europe.

2004 – Barrett Webb was awarded Investors in People accreditation.

2006 – Now on the PSL for three of the Top Ten pharmaceutical companies and preferred search partners with a wide range of clients across the life sciences industry.

January 2007 – We now have a specialist search team of ten people, working across all areas of the European Life sciences industry and in all functional areas.
